Welcome to 2005.

* OzZope had a very successful year last year running its second Zope 3 sprint. It just shows what a bunch of determined people can do in cyber space without fees or a traditional structure. Thanks to all the people who donated for the air fares and to  the people who contributed code.

* PyCon DC 2005 will be held March 23-25, 2005 in Washington, D.C., at the GWU Cafritz Conference Center. Sprints will be held before the conference, from March 19 to 22. http://www.python.org/moin/PyConDC2005/Sprints. Four of the five sprints are Zope based.

* Zope Developer Terry Kerr in The Age newspaper
http://www.theage.com.au/news/Next/Developer-gets-Bizar-result/2005/01/17/1105810847864.html?oneclick=true

* OzZope.org has been upgraded to Plone 2.0.4.

* Thanks to the people who pointed out the OzZope mailing list wasn’t working. We’ve moved OzZope.org over to Zettai.net hosting and it took a while for the domain to point to the OzZope mailing list.

* Someone wrote to the list asking if there were any Canberra Zope people. I’ve mis-moderated your email, could you ask the list again please ;)

* Melbourne Meetings
Melanie Kendall and I investigated a new place for OzZope meetings,  we found a small centrally located hotel. The management would be happy to have OzZope on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. We would just have to bring a digital projector.
Where:
Mi Casa es tu’ Casa,
Opposite the roundabout at the intersections of Queen and Franklin Sts. next to the Victoria Market. Free upstairs function room.
Eat downstairs from 7pm. Meeting starts upstairs at 8pm
Close to public transport and easy parking.
Date to be decided.
