January Newsletter
Welcome to 2005.
* OzZope had a very successful year last year running its second Zope 3
sprint. It just shows what a bunch of determined people can do in cyber
space without fees or a traditional structure. Thanks to all the people
who donated for the air fares and to the people who contributed
code.
* PyCon DC 2005 will be held March 23-25, 2005 in Washington, D.C., at
the GWU Cafritz Conference Center. Sprints will be held
before the conference, from March 19 to 22. http://www.python.org/moin/PyConDC2005/Sprints. Four of the five sprints are Zope based.
* Zope Developer Terry Kerr in The Age newspaper
http://www.theage.com.au/news/Next/Developer-gets-Bizar-result/2005/01/17/1105810847864.html?oneclick=true
* OzZope.org has been upgraded to Plone 2.0.4.
* Thanks to the people who pointed out the OzZope mailing list wasn’t
working. We’ve moved OzZope.org over to Zettai.net hosting and it took
a while for the domain to point to the OzZope mailing list.
* Someone wrote to the list asking if there were any Canberra Zope
people. I’ve mis-moderated your email, could you ask the list again
please ;)
* Melbourne Meetings
Melanie Kendall and I investigated a new place for OzZope meetings, we found a
small centrally located hotel. The management would be happy to have
OzZope on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. We would just have to bring a
digital projector.
